THE Zambia Environmental Justice Coalition (ZEJC) says the Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) and other government agents should not grant Sino Metals permission to resume operations before ensuring the full restoration of the polluted environment. In a statement issued by among other organisations; Caritas Zambia and Conservation Advocates Zambia, Thursday, the Coalition also demanded for the immediate relocation of affected communities to safer areas with adequate water supply, food and land to continue with their livelihood activities. “We categorically oppose any planned decision by ZEMA or other state agencies to grant Sino Metals permission to resume operations prior to a comprehensive clean-up and full restoration of the polluted environment.
