THE Zambia Meteorological Department has advised farmers that wish to plant early to practice moisture conservation methods or consult agriculture extension officers. In an interview, Tuesday, Southern Province provincial meteorologist Victor Bupe further advised farmers to intensify land preparations until the sowing amounts of rains had been attained. “Farmers are advised to intensify land preparation until the sowing amounts of rains have been attained. And for those who wish to plant early, they should practice moisture conservation methods or get in contact with the nearest agriculture extension officer to be availed with the practice.
