MINEWORKERS’ Union of Zambia (MUZ) president Joseph Chewe has attributed the shutting down of the Nchanga Copper Smelter in Chingola for 21 days by KCM to lack of maintenance. On Tuesday, Konkola Copper Mines (KCM) announced that it had shut down its Nchanga Copper Smelter due to a molten metal leakage incident from one of the furnaces.
