FORMER ministry of mines permanent secretary Paul Chanda says the Patriotic Front had messed up the mining sector “a bit”, before UPND got into power. In an interview, Monday, Chanda said Mopani wasn’t as good as it was before, while the situation at KCM had worsened. “I think when these guys came in, I think we had a bit messed up the sector. You have seen with Mopani, it wasn’t as good as it were, KCM it was worsened. These other small mines, it’s okay but I am happy that those big mines. For FQM in North Western, they are doing okay and they are expanding exponentially. That’s very good and I hope and pray that things will turn around positively now,” he said....
