THE Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) says it approved 1,325 development projects in 2024, with a total investment value of US$10 billion. In a statement, Friday, ZEMA Board Chairperson Professor Lovejoy Malambo said the majority of the approved projects were in the mining sector. “At its 27th ordinary meeting held on 27th December 2024, the Environmental Assessment Committee (EAC) of the 5th Board of Directors of ZEMA approved 108 development projects. This brings the total number of approved projects during the year 2024 to 1,325, worth a total of USD10 billion investment value.
