Former ministry of health acting chief human resources development officer Henry Kapoko has been granted k100, 000, 000 bail in his own recognisance by Aridah Chulu, who sat as Lusaka magistrate.
Kapoko was last week jailed for 2 years with hard labour for abuse of office, theft by public servant and money laundering.
The convict was granted bail with two working sureties bound in the like sum on the same terms and condition of 2010 as he did not default during trial.
The state earlier objected to Kapoko’s bail application, saying the convict did not meet certain conditions to be admitted to bail.
Kapoko was sentenced due to the overwhelming evidence that he benefited from the money from the ministry of health through his cousin’s company Kansma Investment limited which participated ina tender process.
