THE Zambia Music Copyright Protection Society (ZAMCOPS) says low levels of copyright compliance among local businesses are undermining efforts to collect and distribute royalties to rightful music creators. ZAMCOPS General Manager Mirrias Siamukondo says while foreign-owned businesses tend to comply, possibly due to prior exposure to strict copyright regimes, many local enterprises continue to operate without licenses, viewing compliance as a burden rather than a necessity.
