Patriotic Front Copperbelt youth chairman Nathan Chanda says it is childish for someone seeking to be called “Mr President” to continue telling lies about President Edgar Lungu.
In apparent reference to Roan PF member of parliament Chishimba Kambwili in a statement today, Chanda, who is also Luanshya Mayor, it was deceitful to say President Lungu had departed from Michael Sata’s vision.
“We want to challenge prophets of doom who are busy preaching lies that President Edgar Lungu and the Patriotic Front has neglected the vision of our founding party father Mr Michael Sata to show us what has been neglected. As PF youths on the Copperbelt, we find such attacks as childish and without substance. It is shallow thinking for anyone who is power hungry and wants to be called ‘Mr President’ to continue telling lies that President Lungu has neglected the vision of Mr Sata. Today, it is testimony that President Lungu has carried on the vision of our father Mr Sata, may his soul rest in peace,” Chanda stated.
“The PF under President Lungu has carried on the vision of Mr Sata in the road sector. Today, most of the road projects which Mr Sata started are still been worked on and some have been completed by President Lungu and new road projects are been launched under the pave Zambia 2000 and link Zambia 8000 which was the vision of Mr Sata to connect the country through massive road infrastructure development.”
Chanda stated that President Lungu and the Patriotic Front would not distracted by some desperate, power hungry people.
“As PF youths we find the continued attacks on President Lungu as ridiculous, unfounded and childish. However, we forgive some people who are so desperate to be called ‘President’. The PF under President Lungu will not be distracted by some desperate, but nothing to do people. Today, we have just witnessed the launch of the Pave 2000 road project in Chifubu constituency under Pamodzi ward of Ndola district on the Copperbelt, this we will continue and we thank the President for his vision,” Chanda stated.
Chanda also urged the contractor doing the Pave Zambia 2000 road works on the Copperbelt to give priority jobs to Copperbelt based individuals especially youths.
“Let me also take this opportunity to urge the contractor doing the Pave Zambia 2000 road works on the Copperbelt to give priority jobs to our youths, locals on the Copperbelt. From the 500 jobs to be created in this project, we appeal to the contractor to look at our youths of Ndola in Chifubu constituency in particular. The Pave Zambia project focuses on upgrading of urban and township roads in Zambia,” stated Chanda.
