Police in Southern Province have arrested a 20-year-old man for allegedly raping a 112-year-old woman of Kazungula District.

Southern Province police commissioner Bonny Kapeso confirmed this in an interview without naming the man.

“A 112 year old woman of Kazungula District has been raped by a 20 year old boy. And police have arrested the named boy who is currently in police custody while the victim is receiving treatment at Mukuni clinic in Kazungula District. The incident happened in the early morning of today at around 03:00 hours at the victim’s residence.
Docket of rape has since been opened and the boy will soon appear before court,” stated Kapeso.
