VICE-PRESIDENT Mutale Nalumango has urged young people to refrain from engaging in high-risk behaviours that predispose them to HIV infection. Speaking during the commemoration of the National HIV Testing, Counselling and Treatment Day, Tuesday, Vice-President Nalumango attributed the new annual HIV infections among adolescents to high-risk behaviours such as early sexual debut and alcohol abuse. “New annual HIV infections in children, adolescents and young people are attributed to various factors such as high-risk behaviours, early sexual debut, poor adherence to treatment, poor health seeking behaviour including testing for HIV, alcohol and drug abuse.
