ENERGY Minister Peter Kapala says there is only 14 percent usable water in the Kariba Dam and government is planning for below normal rainfall. In an interview, Kapala said there was need for the country to generate less and to scale up solar energy. “We just have to generate less, we will generate less. That is why we need to scale up quickly in solar. The prediction is that it is normal to below normal [rainfall].
