DIRECTOR of Public Prosecution (DPP) Gilbert Phiri says going forward, the National Prosecution Authority (NPA) will not be fixated on punishing a grown man who is stealing a chicken for his starving family, as the law will evolve to reflect social economic circumstances. And Phiri says the NPA is motivated to ensure that those who commit crimes with heinous consequences to the people are severely punished, vowing that not only will they be in prison, but they will be stripped of every shred of property.
