THE Zambia Medical Association has suggested that in order to improve NHIMA’s financial standing, contributions should be deducted from the gross pay, rather than the current basic pay. And the Association says NHIMA’s decision to revise the benefits package defeats the intended goal of protecting Zambians from out of pocket payments. Meanwhile, ZMA says the authority must enhance the claims verification mechanism in order to prevent fraudulent payments.
