As Zambia joins the rest of the world in commemorating International Women’s Day today, the call for gender equality and women empowerment in politics rings louder than ever. International Women’s Day presents an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of women in Zambia and around the world. It’s a time to acknowledge their resilience, courage, and contributions to our various sectors of society, including politics, academia, and economic development. However, it’s also a moment to reflect on the challenges that women continue to face, including gender-based discrimination, violence, and unequal access to opportunities.
