ZESCO is load shedding people for more hours than it promised, and the excuses that are being given for this do not hold any water. It is quite mischievous on the part of Zesco’s management really, to announce an eight-hour electricity rationing schedule, and then switch off power for 12 hours. We say it is mischievous because it is not the customer that told Zesco how long the load shedding hours should be. Zesco engineers looked at the company’s generation capacity and based on the calculations, they announced an eight-hour long period of load shedding in a day.
