THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has set October 28, 2024, as the date for a ruling in the case where Lumezi Independent Member of Parliament, Munir Zulu, is accused of making defamatory remarks against Finance Minister Situmbeko Musokotwane, Infrastructure Minister Charles Milupi, and Road Development Agency (RDA) Board Chairperson, Mulchand Kuntawala. During proceedings on Thursday, the court was reminded that a Member of Parliament enjoys immunity from legal proceedings for expressions made within the precincts of Parliament. Zulu faces three counts of libel related to allegations he made during a press conference held on March 21, 2023.
