ZESCO united FC has confirmed that striker Lazarous Kambole will leave the 2018 MTN/FAZ super league champions for greener pastures.
ZESCO Chief Executive Officer Richard Mulenga told Goal Diggers! that the club is currently in talks with South African Premier Soccer league side Kaizer Chiefs regarding Kambole adding that the Zambian international would definitely leave.
He however revealed that there were numerous clubs interested in signing Kambole and that as such he could not disclose where exactly Kambole would end up.
“On Lazarous Kambole, we are in talks with Kaizer Chiefs but we are far from reaching a conclusion. There are several clubs that are in talks over Kambole. Let me just confirm the Kaizer chiefs one since it is in Public domain but there are several other clubs. You know when you have not concluded issues it becomes a little difficult to disclose. It becomes a problem. Or even the player that you are pursuing, if you have not concluded anything with their clubs, it’s not appropriate to talk about it until you have concluded. Kambole will definitely be leaving so it’s a matter of looking for replacement. A suitable replacement, yeah,” he said.
Mulenga also dismissed reports that the club had signed Prison Leopards midfielder Saviour Konkola on a three years deal.
“We have not signed Saviour Konkola from Prison Leopards as reports have it. We have not even engaged the club. We are yet to consider that move.”
