DESPITE missing out on a podium finish at the Brussels Diamond League meet, Muzala Samukonga has qualified for the Diamond League final, set to take place in Zurich from August 27–28. Samukonga clocked 44.91 seconds in the men’s 400m final, finishing in fifth place against a highly competitive field that featured some of the world’s top sprinters. The race was won by Jacory Patterson of the United States, who recorded a blistering 44.05 seconds. Fellow American Vernon Norwood came second with 44.62s, while Charles Dobson of Great Britain claimed third after he clocked 44.81s.
