President Edgar Lungu has nominated dismissed Felix Mutati’s MMD national secretary Raphael Nakacinda to parliament.
Special Assistant to the President for Press and Public Relations Amos Chanda announced this to journalists, Thursday, saying this was in the spirit of sustaining the alliance between the PF and MMD.
Chanda said Nakacinda accepted the nomination and he will take oath of office this afternoon.
“This morning, His Excellency President Edgar Chagwa Lungu nominated Mr Rapheal Nakacinda, the MMD national secretary, he has nominated him to parliament with immediate effect and he will take oath of office before Mr Speaker this afternoon. The nomination is in the spirit of sustaining the very very important alliance between the ruling Patriotic Front and the MMD. The letter nominating honorable Nakacinda has since been delivered to him and Honorable Mr Speaker has been informed of that decision and formalities are underway for Honorable Rapheal Nakacinda to take oath,” said Chanda.
“He has thanked the President for the trust and honor and the President has thanked him for the magnanimity he has shown to serve the country and he has promised to do his very best to advance not just national interest but also the spirit of alliance which is between the PF the MMD.”
