DMMU National Coordinator Gabriel Pollen has disclosed that government targets to support 11,000 small-scale farmers with agriculture inputs to boost resilience in the sector. And Dr Pollen says government has earmarked the installation of 2,000 boreholes and rehabilitation of dams countrywide. In an interview, Dr Pollen said supporting small scale farmers with agriculture inputs would help move a portion of the country from dependence on weather patterns. “Under the Ministry of Agriculture, we are targeting at least 11,000 small scale farmers with agriculture input support. So what this will do essentially is to move a portion of the country from dependence on the weather and to order our own affairs in terms of when we want to grow our food,”...
