THE Zambia Police Service has detained a Chinese National at Kanyama Police Station for obtaining money by false pretences. In a statement, Monday, Police Spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the suspect, identified as Liang Qi, swindled Sun Jun, another Chinese National out of $55,000 after falsely representing himself as a gold dealer. “The Zambia Police Service wishes to confirm the detention of a Chinese national at Kanyama Police Station for the offence of Obtaining Money by False Pretences contrary to Section 309 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia.
