THE shooting of a 15-year-old boy of Kankoyo township at the hands of Zambia National Service officers during an operation in Mufulira District makes sad reading. It is difficult to understand how a group of trained military personnel can open fire on defenceless civilians. The incident in Kankoyo needs to be condemned in the strongest terms, and we agree with area member of parliament Honourable Heartson Mabeta who says there is need to flash out some overzealous and unprofessional officers from the army.
