ZAMTEL chief executive officer Dr Mupanga Mwanakatwe has left the institution following an unexplained mutual agreement.
According to a statement issued by ZAMTEL corporate communications department, Dr Mwanakatwe left the institution on ‘mutual terms’.
“Zambia Telecommunications Company Limited wishes to inform the general public that Dr. Mupanga Mwanakatwe Chief Executive Officer has separated from employment with the Company by mutual agreement effective 18th February, 2017. In the interim, the Chief Technical Officer, Mr Sydney Mupeta has been appointed to act as Chief Executive Officer until such a time that the substantive Chief Executive Officer is appointed” read the statement in part.
Dr Mwanakatwe was appointed to head Zamtel by late president Michael Sata in January 2012 after government reversed the sale of 75 per cent shareholding to Lap Green Network of Libya.
