THE cost of living for a family of five in Lusaka reduced by K255.14 in April 2024, according to the JCTR Basic Needs and Nutrition Basket (BNNB). The Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) has revealed that its BNNB for April 2024 stood at K10,348.08, indicating a K255.14 reduction compared to March’s K10,603.40. In a statement, Thursday, JCTR Social and Economic Development Programme Manager Muchimba Siamachoka attributed the reduction to lower charcoal prices, which dropped to K343.33 from K428.33 for a 90kg bag.
