FINANCE and National Planning Minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane says the performance of the Kwacha against the dollar is not too bad compared to other currencies on the African continent. On Thursday, Socialist Party leader Dr Fred M’membe criticised the performance of the local currency under the UPND administration. “Nangu tapasoswa (even if they shouldn’t be talked about), K50 is now equal to US$ 1.77 per day at the current exchange rate of K28.3,” stated M’membe in a Facebook post. But commenting on this in an interview, Friday, Dr Musokotwane said there had been relative stability in the exchange rate. “There has been relative stability in the exchange rate, most of 2024, exchange rate stability does not mean fixed rate, stability...
