THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has sentenced a 27-year-old builder to two years imprisonment with hard labour for attempting to rape a 30-year-old married woman. The incident is said to have occurred after the 27-year-old man escorted the victim to the police to report her husband after a difference. Mathews Mtonga was facing one count of attempted rape, a charge he denied. Particulars of the offence in the matter were that on August 23, 2022, Mtonga attempted to rape a 30-year-old woman without her consent.
