PF deputy secretary general Mumbi Phiri says it is wrong for some people to accuse Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo of killing Lusaka Province NDC youth chairman Obed Kasongo because the post-mortem results prove his innocence.
Speaking when she called-in on UNZA Radio’s Lusaka Star Programme featuring PF deputy media director Antonio Mwanza, Monday, Mumbi wondered whether people who were accusing Lusambo of murder were not ashamed after seeing the postmortem results.
“I don’t know if you have talked about the hate, the mudslinging, the unfairness, which is happening in politics, which I have always talked about. And on Saturday, I made a contribution right there on UNZA Radio where the moderator was very convinced that the NDC Lusaka youth chairman Mr Kasongo died after succumbing to the injuries, which he suffered and it was blamed on the Lusaka Province Minister Bowman Lusambo,” Mumbi said.
“I called and said that ‘pano pa calo tupitapofye’ (we are just visitors on this earth), whatever we do, the lies we perpetuate against each other to make people rise against other people will follow us when God calls us. What have we seen from the postmortem, which was conducted by a private doctor on Mr Kasongo? Isn’t that a shame? This now should be made as a topic of discussion on Saturday so that we hear from those who were very convinced that it was Bowman who killed him.”
She urged Lusambo’s accusers to be civilized and stop peddling falsehoods.
“Let us be civilized, and let us remember that, one day we shall face God himself! ‘Mulebepesha abantu efyo tacitile’ (you are accusing people of things they haven’t done) so, what is next? There are also people who were talking about (Mapenzi) Chibulo, the girl who was shot in Chawama. We all saw what happened; why was that girl targeted, they were showing her pictures and all that, it’s so sad!” lamented Mumbi.
