CHIEF Government Spokesperson Cornelius Mweetwa has rubbished claims that the just ended ward by-elections in which UPND scooped all eight seats were characterised by intimidation, vote buying and corruption. On Wednesday, Christian Churches Monitoring Group (CCMG) Programs Manager Peter Mwanang’ombe alleged that the ruling UPND was seen distributing money and collecting National Registration Cards (NRC) from potential voters. Mwanang’ombe also challenged the secretary to the treasury to prove that the ministers who participated in campaigns were on leave at that time.
