KAWAMBWA PF member of parliament Nickson Chilangwa’s lawyer Benjamin Mwelwa says the Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) is in defiance of the law by going ahead with by-elections in that constituency. But ECZ says the decision to set the date for the Kawambwa Parliamentary by-elections was informed by the Constitutional Court’s ruling. In July this year, the Kawambwa Magistrates’ Court convicted and sentenced Chilangwa to 60 months imprisonment for malicious damage to property.
