THE Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) has revealed that it recorded a total of 8,809 road crashes in the first quarter of 2025. Addressing the media, Tuesday, RTSA Chief Executive Officer Eng. Amon Mweemba said Lusaka recorded the highest number of accidents in this quarter, accounting for 54 percent of the total. He attributed this high number to the significant economic activities in Lusaka but stressed that it was totally unacceptable. “We recorded a total of 8,809 road crashes, of which 410 were fatal, resulting in the death of 498 individuals.
