THIS week, we have been treated to an interesting human interest story about empowering struggling marketeers. President Hakainde Hichilema has decided to donate his salary to traders who conduct their business along Tokyo Way, otherwise known as Ring Road. This is the bypass partly used by the Presidential motorcade from State House to New Kasama where the Head of State lives in his private residence – Community House. President Hichilema’s Finance and Investments advisor Jito Kayumba says the Head of State still does not collect his salary as he prefers to divert it to charitable endeavours.
