CHRISTIAN Democratic Party president Apostle Dan Pule has petitioned the High Court over the state’s decision to arrest and charge him with seditious practices, arguing that the law is outdated. Pule argues that sedition laws have been criticised by UN, human rights experts, courts, and others for being a weapon used by governments to violate the right to freedom of expression. Meanwhile, Pule’s case in which he is charged with two counts of seditious practices, failed to take off yesterday on grounds that he had suffered an injury and needed medical attention.
