MWINILUNGA UPND MP, Newton Samakayi, has expressed concern over inadequate communication regarding the proposed increase in electricity tariffs, emphasising the importance of public understanding and acceptance. The Energy Regulation Board (ERB) recently announced plans for a nine percent tariff increment in 2024, followed by a 14 per cent hike in 2025. Green Economy and Environment Minister Collins Nzovu highlighted the necessity for citizens to endure the rise to aid Zesco in meeting the country’s escalating energy demand.
