A SMALL group of youths calling themselves the Protest Movement conducted a peaceful protest against loadshedding in Lusaka’s Chudleigh area yesterday, instead of at Zesco Headquarters, after police arrested four of their colleagues. The youths managed to protest against Zesco’s mismanagement of the electricity crisis, and the police were only seen after the protest had ended and the youths had dispersed. Meanwhile, a consortium of civil society organisations has condemned the arrest of the four protesters by the Zambia Police. Earlier that day, police in Lusaka arrested four people who attempted to protest against loadshedding at Zesco Headquarters. In a statement, Deputy Police Public Relations Officer Danny Mwale stated that the four were picked at Zesco Headquarters around 08:30 hours....
