THE Ministry of Health and ZAMMSA on Thursday had contradicting explanations as to why drugs were not delivered to some parts of the country, among them Muchinga Province. The Auditor General’s report for the financial year ended December 31, 2023 revealed that drugs and medical supplies worth K487,768 procured during the period under review had not been delivered to eight stations in three provinces as at 31st August, 2024. The report also revealed that during the period under review, ZAMMSA delivered drugs and medical supplies worth K56,831 to three stations in Eastern Province which were rejected due to short shelf life and changes in guidelines.
